Beauty and the Beast

For this post I decided to do a movie that is one of my favorites. Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite movies. I loved it as a kid and I love it even more now. It has a great storyline and animation, and the song are the best. As much as I love the songs, the music is just as good.

The music from the movie I chose is “Transformation”. It appears in the scene where the beast dies and then is transformed into the prince. Its the music that plays till the end of the movie. It one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever. My favorite part is the beginning because it is very relaxing. But I love the entire song as well.

Peter Pan

I really like this movie. When I first saw Peter Pan when it came out in 2003 I was blown away. I thought it was the coolest movie I had ever seen. It was a live action version of the Disney film and it was much darker. I liked it because there were new factors that weren’t in the old one. For example, in this movie the mermaids are evil and will try to drown people.

The song I from the soundtrack is “Flying”. It’s in the scene when Peter Pan, Wendy, John, and Michal all fly off to Neverland. It a fantastic scene and the music behind it makes it all the better. It’s a beautiful song and you just think of flying when you hear it. The entire soundtrack is amazing, but this is my favorite.

Sleepy Hollow

In this blog I am including my YouTube video as well as another film score. In my YouTube video I talk about some of the movies I own that have the best scores. The score I chose is from my video. Its Sleepy Hollow and its one of my favorite scores. I included other movies that I have posted and some that I might post later.

I love the movie Sleepy Hollow. The score is created by Danny Elfman, one of my favorite composers. The song I chose is “Main Titles”. I love this song because its dark and gothic. It definitely gives off a spooky vibe like the movie. Listening to this you can imagine a dark, misty forest. I absolutely love this song.

Lord of the Rings

Lord of the Rings is a great movie. All three of the movies are amazing and have great music in them. The music to the lord of the rings trilogy is perfect. Each song was created for a specific scene and had its own personality. The songs used in the scene with hobbits are very light and upbeat with violins and flutes. However, the songs used for scenes with villains are low and use a lot of horns and drums.

For this post I chose the song Flight to the Ford. Its used in the scene where Arwin must take Frodo to her father to heal him. I love this song because it starts out very calm and then builds up to the climax. My favorite part is at 2:30 till the end because it’s the part where Arwin is being chases by the Nazgul and conjures the river horses. It’s a very powerful piece of music and scene.

Titanic

Titanic is one of my favorite movies. Its romantic and filled with adventure. Also the entire sinking part of the movie is amazing. The music for the movie is amazing. It captures the time and personality of the movie. The sound of the soundtrack is very celtic. I love celtic music and it works very well with the film.

The song I picked is Hymn to the Sea. I think its the best one on the soundtrack because it ties everything together. Its a very beautiful song and captures the majesty and sadness of the titanic. I love the first part of the song, its very relaxing and beautiful. The entire song itself can make you think of the titanic.

APP

For my app idea I thought of one that goes with my blog. If you were watching a movie and were interested in the music, you could open the app “Movie Notes” and find out who wrote it and other music from movies that are similar. The app wil also link you to iTunes if you wanted to buy it. Also you can make it into a ringtone from the app.

Transformers

Transformers is one of my favorite movies. It’s full of action and adventure. It also as an amazing score to go along with it. The entire movie has a great score, but there is only one song from the score that really stands out to me. The song I picked is “Scorponok.”

I love this song because it very up-beat and fast. The song takes place in the scene of Transformers when a giant robotic scorpion attacks a group of U.S. army men. The song works very well with this scene because the sound of it is very powerful and you can think of a fight when you hear it. My favorite part of the song is from 2:30-3:20. It is the most powerful part of the song and it happens in the scene when the U.S. army send jets to destroy the robot. http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXkPWEIY8wM

Pirates of the Caribbean

Recently I have been doing movies that have come out this year. For this post I decided to do a film score from a movie that is a couple years old. I decided to do Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. The music to this movie is amazing. The first time I saw it I went out and bought the soundtrack immediately.

The song I chose from the movie is “Davy Jones”. Davey Jones is my favorite song from the soundtrack. It coordinates with the scene of Davey Jones playing the organ and the ship in the middle of a storm.  It’s beautiful music that starts off as a music box then switches to an epic orchestra. I love the scene in the movie the song is from and the song itself is my favorite.

Oblivion

Oblivion is a science fiction movie. It’s filled with action and adventure and the soundtrack compliments it very well. Last week I did a main theme that was very fast paced and described the action in the movie “Pacific Rim”. For “Oblivion” I didn’t choose the main title. I picked a song from a specific scene.

The song I chose is titled “StarWaves”. I chose this song because I thought it was very beautiful and it made the scene much more powerful. The scene is of the two main characters swimming at night under the stars. It’s a very beautiful and romantic scene and also one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie. My favorite part of the song is at 2:30, because that’s when the song really kicks off. Hope y’all enjoy it.

Pacific Rim

So I was looking around on YouTube and I came across the Pacific Rim soundtrack. I listened to the Main Theme track and was blown away. For a main them it was pretty awesome. I can honestly say that if you weren’t interested in the film all you have to do is listen to the main theme and you would automatically get pumped to see the movie. I think the main theme music in a movie is very important because it sets the tone for the rest of the movie. It wouldn’t make sense to have a rock’en epic guitar in the main theme of a romantic comedy. The music has to fit the movie. If you haven’t seen the movie than listen to the Main Theme because it totally compliments the movie.
